Abstract: Excessive woodcutting of qualitative forests in several mounatains and in Vuthay valley (Plav-Gusinje area) caused very harmful processes and consequences. Excessive woodcuttings of fir and pine forests in mountains Horolac, Kofiljaca, Zabelj, Memina etc. caused very strong erosion onto large area of mountains consisted of unstable and metamorphic rocks. On the other side, excessive woodcuttings of beach forests in Vuthay valley are speeding up infiltration of rainfall water in limestone underground. These processes are causing misbalance in flow regime and water level of river Skavkač-Grlja especialy during rainfall season when it floods more than 2/3 of qualitative meadows and alluvial plain in lower sector of valley. During driest summer months water level in spring Syni and river Skavkac falling down to minimum. These processes disable water draining for agriculture production. Weak agriculture production caused intensive emigration of people from Vuthaj valley mostly for USA.

Keywords: Vuthaj valley, eroded rocks, degradation of areas, water disappearing, river stream, river level, rainfall season, arid summer months, floods, reduction of agriculture manufacturing, unemployment, emigration.
