Excessive noise levels pose a serious problem in contemporary urban environments, with significant consequences for the environment, human health and overall quality of life. This study focuses on measuring and spatially visualizing noise as one of the major urban pollutants in the local community of Trg Oslobođenja-Centar in Sarajevo. The spatial scope of the research pertains to one of the largest urban centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The aim of the research is to analyze, geovisualize and assess the impact of noise based on measurements, in order to identify key pollution points and develop strategies to reduce negative effects. The methodology includes data collection using the mobile application "Decibel X v9.2.8," with measurements taken at 18 locations from March 30 to April 5, 2024. The data were analyzed and processed in GIS using interpolation models to create a cartographic representation of noise levels. The results of this study indicate the need for implementing targeted measures to reduce noise, in order to improve the quality of the urban living environment in Sarajevo. Further research should focus on long-term monitoring of the effects of these measures and their adaptation according to the intensity of urban development, to effectively address the challenges of urban noise pollution in the context of growing urban areas.
